South Devon National Landscape | Hope Cove (Mouthwell Sands)

Type

Sandy cove with pebbles. Backed by rocky cliffs and masonary wall against road.

Ownership

Part Harbour Commissioners.

Part South Hams District Council.

Access

There is a slipway from the road down to the beach or 10 metal steps with a rail down the side of the slipway.

Disabled access

Via a ramp onto soft sand.

Parking

Car park with 26 spaces. Charges apply. 100m from beach.

Facilities

Beach shop, café and pub at Outer Hope. Public toilets at Watchhouse Sands 400m at low tide from Inner Hope.

Lifeguard

RNLI lifeguard service operates 6th July - 8th September.

Activities

Coastal walks to Thurlestone and Bolberry Down.

Dogs

Dogs are not permitted on the beach at any time of day between 1st May and 30th September inclusive.
