How to plant a meadow

How to plant a meadow

With our Life on the Edge project in full swing, we have had a few successful events!

A few weeks ago, 10 courageous volunteers braved the rain to learn about creating wildflower meadows as part of our Life On The Edge project with ParkLife SW at Wembury.

The tenacious ten undertook de-turfing and seeding of an area of meadow at Wembury Recreation Ground, to create a wildflower meadow. These meadows provide food and shelter for many of our pollinators and will have the ground buzzing with wildlife!

The flowers bloom for many years after its creation, providing a beautiful space for the whole community to enjoy. These meadows also help absorb carbon and store it, helping in the fight against global warming and climate change.

A massive thank you to all those involved in doing their bit for the environment!
