Bigbury

Type
Very popular sandy beach.
Ownership
Split between a number of different ownerships.
Access
From car park down 35 steep steps with handrail or via concrete slipway.
Disabled access
There is a steep, slipway ramp down onto the soft sand.
Parking
900 spaces, open 24 hours a day, 75m from beach, charges apply.
Facilities
Beach shop, café (50m), pub across causeway on Burgh island, ferry access, toilets 100m with showers and baby changing. Telephone box on village road behind car park.
Lifeguard
RNLI lifeguard service operates 4th May to 29th September.
Activities
Walking paths. Swimming, surfing, windsurfing.
Dogs
Dogs are not permitted on the main central part of the beach at any time of day between 1st May and 30th September inclusive.

Slipway access
There is a slipway ramp to the beach from the main car park and a second one at the eastern end of the beach (Sedgewell slip).
