flyer about performance and arts organisation

A performance like no other – featuring a live DJ and cutting-edge soundtrack. NDP combines dance, theatre and circus to take audiences on a journey to explore the metamorphosis of the Robber Fly.

Staged on and around a striking 6 metre biomechanical sculpture, created from a salvaged Piper Apache aircraft fuselage, the performance features pole artistry, contortion and acrobatics alongside dance and theatre to introduce audiences to the many bemusing and awe-inspiring creatures that live in the Robber Fly community.

The fly pupae struggle as they fight to emerge, only 1 will survive! The survivor emerges from its cocoon, escaping its earthly bounds and transforming itself into a winged Diva! Once transformed, it meets many weird and wonderful creatures in its search for love…The Robber Fly is part of the delicate ecosystem that is being threatened by the climate crisis. This transformation is one of the greatest magical and untold stories in the world of insects.

  • The show is a celebration of insects and their metamorphosis. It’s time to fly!
  • ‘The Life Cycle of the Devon Red Legged Robber Fly’ features a live DJ and a cutting-edge soundtrack combining found sound sourced from and inspired by the insects and environment of the South Devon landscape.
