Join NDP Circus Co-Director, Maria Tarokh, for a fun and engaging workshop exploring insect movement and metamorphosis.
Inspired by NDP Circus’s Robberfly performance outside The Box, Tavistock Place, Plymouth at 12:45-1:30pm on 30th July.
You are encouraged to come to both events.
Using physical theatre and movement exercises we will embody insects at all stages of their journey; from maggot to magnificent robberfly! The workshop will see participants rolling, gliding, jumping, turning. We will explore how to physicalise the speed of the robberfly and how to develop a character through movement.
This event is offered by the Life on the Edge Project, part of South Devon National Landscape. We are working together to restore a coastline buzzing with wildlife.
NDP Circus is a theatrical circus company specialising in site-specific outdoor productions which take place at sites of architectural and historical interest. NDP’s participatory approach combines workshops and integrated performances across the UK and Europe. All NDP productions work with sets made from recycled and salvaged materials. Working with theatre, circus, and dance, NDP shares the excitement and complexity of human dramas from classical tales, emphasising their relevance to all people in all societies.
This is a commission from Doorstep Arts and South Devon National Landscape as part of Nature Calling, a project of the National Landscapes Association, in partnership with Activate – funded by Arts Council England, Defra and South Devon National Landscape.
